Quiet Moments on a Sunday Afternoon

A swan and chirping birds
lily pads on still waters
buzzing dragon flies
surround me

yes, a beautiful white swan I see
walking gracefully over the water
what a sight to see

warm, cool air
blowing here and there
tall wild grass
gently swaying

tall trees in the distance
sparkling in the wind
heaven’s calling

small, gentle white clouds
blowing lazily through the sky

Psalm 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of
God; and the firmament show His handiwork.

  1. Actually, what I saw was not a swan, it was a great white Heron or a great white Egret. Swans don’t have long bills like this one had.

  2. Heidi Viars's avatar Heidi Viars says:

    how peaceful … 🙂

  3. Well, you have been a great encouragement to me to get out and take a moment. So I walked along a path and parked myself on this bench–where, this poem came to me, as God was speaking to me through it all–loving me through His creation.
