Will they call on God?
Will God show them how to pray?
How to repent?
How to seek Him?
Will God’s evil servants
be of any good?
Will their terror
move the people to repent?
Lift up the light of Thy
Countenance upon us, O Lord!
Show us Your goodness and grace!
Let the afflicted people
see Your mercy
and let them see your wrath
against the evil one.
Oh let the people pray.
Let the people repent.
Come to us Lord!
heartbroken prayers…
What a Biblical perspective — thanks, Stephen, for reminding us to interpret the meaning of world events in light of eternity. Many centuries ago the conquering darkness and greed of Islam was stopped in France, under the leadership of Charles Martel (“the Hammer”). Then the Bible-squelching, Waldensian/Albigensian/Vaudois-persecuting darkness and greed of the Romish church was challenged by another hammer — the hammer of Dr. Martin Luther, at the door of the Catholic church of Wittenberg. It looks like we need some more help (God willing) from the likes of both Charles Martel and Martin Luther. May God be honored as He works in this world — and may many become wise enough to seek (and find) the gift of forgiveness and salvation in Christ.
